As I write this blog, I’m watching a TV show called Ancestors in the Attic, where people have pictures or documents of a family member and search to find out more about that person. How They Spent Their Dash
Recently, I was chatting with someone interested in finding information on some of her ancestors listed on her family tree with only the year of birth and the year of death, but she couldn’t find out anything about them.

Outlive Your Obituary
Years ago we used to laugh as we would quote a portion of Pete Seeger’s poem:
I get up each morning, gather my wits.
Pick up the paper, read the obits.
If I’m not there I know I’m not dead.

Lily’s Dedication
Today, many extended family members and friends joined the congregation at church to witness the dedication ceremony for my youngest granddaughter, Lily. It was a beautiful service with her two older sisters singing a duet and an object lesson from a lily plant. My daughter and her husband promised to raise Lily for the Lord, protect her and keep her from harm, while the congregation pledged to pray for the family.
