About

Our Mom

Mom was a natural storyteller. Growing up, my siblings and I were enthralled by her tales—adventures from her childhood, family anecdotes, fun-filled stories, and faith-filled accounts. She often shared children’s stories during Sunday morning worship services, always with illustrations she either made or gathered. She shared stories with anyone who would listen.

Despite being asked many times to write her stories, she never seemed to have the time, leaving only a few scribbled memories on scraps of paper. We even asked her to tape-record more stories, but again, time slipped away. Finally, we planned to record some of her stories on her 95th birthday. Tragically, we received the call en route to see her—Mom was gone. We had left it too late, and her stories passed away with her.

For months, I, Lillian, had heard about faithbooking. At my daughter’s memorial service for her grandmother, I realized that if I didn’t take the time to record the stories I remembered, along with my own, they would be lost forever. Thus began my journey into faithbooking, and I invited my younger sister to join me.

We hope the stories recorded here inspire you to document your experiences so future generations can know about your ‘God moments’ and use them as faith-builders.
