There are many ways to enjoy your photos―framed on your wall or shelf, photo albums, scrapbooks, and digital books. They are a great way to preserve memories that are important to you.
Many people think they have to be creative to make a scrapbook, and that’s great for those who are creative. But what about those who aren’t so creative? Don’t despair; there are many other ways that are quick and easy.
The main thing is that you include your stories with your photos. There’s a saying that ‘a picture is worth a thousand words,’ but if people look at your photo and don’t know who the person is, what they’re doing, why or when, the picture isn’t worth much. On the other hand, the stories that go along with the photos paint a picture in the mind. And for those of us who are getting older and can’t remember a lot of what happened ‘way back when,’ those stories will bring it back to us again.
One of my favourite ways of keeping my stories and photos is in a storybook. They’re easy and fun to prepare for those who enjoy working on the computer. You can put together all the information, send it off to be printed, and then be delighted to share your book with others. If you don’t want to publish a whole book, you can just print a page to put into a regular scrapbook album, or you can frame it and put it on your wall.
PicFolio albums are quick and simple to put together―just slide in your photos, add a little bit of journaling, and you’re done.
Scrapbooking is a fun way to put your pictures into albums and gives you a way to preserve ticket stubs, maps, or other meaningful memorabilia.
However you decide to preserve your pictures, you’ll be glad you did, and so will your family. And, they’re so much easier to show others than when they’re tucked away in a box hidden in the closet or attic, or they’re on a CD mixed in with hundreds of other CDs.
