Storytelling

Timeless Tradition

Since the dawn of time, storytelling has been an integral part of communication. Parents and grandparents have passed down their wisdom through stories. Think of how cave dwellers used graphics to share their heritage, or how Jesus used simple life stories to teach His followers.

Today, we have countless ways to share our stories, from blogging to reach thousands around the world, to telling bedtime stories while tucking in a child at night.

Why Share Stories?

  • Understanding Ourselves: Sharing stories helps us understand why we make certain decisions and value certain things. It shows others that they’re not alone in their struggles. They can shed light on what we believe and why, helping us and those we share with see situations in a new way. This can lead to healing, grace, and forgiveness.
  • Healing and Connection: Often, the stories worth sharing are the ones we hesitate to tell. Remembering them can stir up emotions, and we fear judgment or gossip. However, sharing these stories can lead to another story of how God helped us through that situation.
  • Recording “God Moments:” Sharing your “God moments” helps you recognize and keep a record of His touch on your life. This is your story, and if you don’t share it, who will?

Sharing your story can be that powerful.

Passing on Your Legacy

You can use many different tools to share your stories, but the main thing is to remember God’s goodness and pass this legacy on to the next generation whether it’s your children and grandchildren, nieces and nephews, friends, or anyone you know. Your story matters.
